In this 2-day workshop, Girl Scouts Cadettes (6th-8th) will create a 1 minute digital short film using a dream as their story inspiration. The dream can be something they experienced while sleeping or an aspiration or goal they have for the future.
Tuesday 11/7/23 5-7PM: Participants share their dream subject. ENTRE facilitators will guide participants through creating a story structure and storyboarding their film. Participants will be shown examples of films that use paper cut outs and collage techniques as inspiration.
Wednesday 11/8/23 5-7PM: Production of film. ENTRE facilitators will provide assistance during production and assembling of media. Participants will learn how to use digital cameras to photograph and animate their collages, choose to record their dream narrations, and assemble their media in video editing software. Works will be finalized by ENTRE and prepared for exhibition at a later date.
All materials will be provided. Participants are asked to choose the dream they wish to turn into a film before attending the workshop. We also invite participants to bring any objects or materials that can personalize their dream film such as toys, photographs, or fabric.
8 participants maximum. 2 scholarship spots available for participants who need assistance with registration fee. If you are interested in a scholarship, please write ENTRE at info@entrefilmcenter.org with the subject line "Scholarship: Dream Club" for more information.
This workshop is a offered exclusively to Girl Scout Cadettes through a partnership with The Girl Scouts of Greater South Texas. Cadettes who participate in this workshop will receive their Digital Movie Maker Badge.
