ENTRE is honored to welcome artist and filmmaker Eve-Lauryn LaFountain (Santa Fe, NM) to the Rio Grande Valley on Saturday September 12, 2026! This is a special screening with Eve in attendance for a post-screening conversation!
Eve has selected seven films from her body of work to share with our RGV community. They range from quiet meditation and ritual to personal essay, all shot, edited and performed by the artist. If you are interested in handmade cinema, working with 16mm and Super8 film, and how artists weave their practice with their life, then you will not want to miss this screening and conversation!

About the artist: Eve-Lauryn Little Shell LaFountain is an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa. She was born into a family of artists in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she is currently based. LaFountain is a multimedia artist, filmmaker, and educator. Her work explores identity, history, Indigenous Futurism, feminism, ghosts, magic, and her mixed Native American and Jewish heritage through lens based media, installations, performances, and beadwork. She is a Mandel Institute Cultural Leadership Fellow, and has also received support for her work from the Sundance Institute, Mike Kelley Foundation, Andy Warhol Foundation, COUSIN Collective, Echo Park Film Center and more. She has exhibited her work in venues and festivals around the world. She holds a BA from Hampshire College, and a dual MFA in Film & Video and Photography & Media from California Institute of the Arts. She currently teaches online filmmaking courses at CalArts, and is on the faculty of the MFA Studio Arts Program at the Institute of American Indian Arts.
