This year, we've been working a group of folks to establish ENTRE's first-ever Film Programming Committee (FPC)! The FPC, working alongside ENTRE Worker-Owners and community members, will program films at ENTRE's microcinema, and eventually, across the RGV!
May kicks off ENTRE's first film series of 2026: The Year of the Horse (May-September) programmed by FPC members Karla Villegas & Alexandra Villarreal!
A film series driven by instinct, transformation, and forward motion. Inspired by the spirit of the horse, these films explore what it means to move with intention, act boldly, and live freely. Fierce and unrestrained, each story reflects the courage and intensity of the Fire Horse.

At a time when the world demands action and intention, the Year of the Horse arrives as a symbol of transformation and rebirth. It reminds us of the fire within ourselves, the strength that carries us forward through uncertainty and into renewal. This five-part film series was born from that energy. Each film embodies a different facet of the Fire Horse spirit, revealing stories of courage, resilience, boldness, and the unwavering pursuit of a brighter future ahead. - Karla Villeagas, FPC Member
